This is an example of Personal Development Planning (PDP). The material presented here has been modified from the Keynote Project and converted to into a Profile e-portfolio. This part of Profile is open access to allow you to view the example material and forms. For this reason, the SAVE function on the forms has been disabled. Please note that this site is currently being developed and all the Word forms will be replaced by web-forms and the style will be uniform throughout - so please bear with us while we undertake this refurbishment!

All the PDP content shown here is available to students in personal, secure, password-protected e-portfolios which can be accessed from anywhere with internet access. When students complete forms, the entries are stored and students can upload and attach any type of electronic evidence (Word documents, graphics, Excel spreadsheets, video & audio files, scanned documents etc) to their forms. Because Profile is not linked to any commercial VLE, users can continue to use their e-portfolios even after they graduate or move jobs and therefore this can become the basis of continuing professional development (CPD) or lifelong learning. Students can 'invite' academics and employers to view their work and 'sign-off' tasks.

If you would like to use Profile to provide your students or employees with an e-portfolio to evidence their learning or professional development but do not wish to use this particular material, then you can upload your own content and forms and put your own branding on the pages, for instance your own university logo. Your material will not be on public view and will only be available to your students/employees on their personal login.

To find out more about using Profile follow the other links on the Profile homepage then contact profile@uwe.ac.uk.

This e-portfolio is designed for you to use throughout your time university and even after you graduate for Continuing personal Development (CPD). Its purpose is to allow you to:

Record your achievements

Plan for the future

Maximize your potential

Enhance your employability

Using the forms in this guide you can build up your own e-portfolio for Personal Development Plan from goal-setting exercises, together with reflective notes and useful feedback. It will grow according to your input and should prove an excellent tool to manage your own development.

This e-portfolio is available wherever you have internet access and as long as you keep your email address, you can access your portfolio even after you graduate.
